About Me

I am an IBCLC with a masters degree in Maternal-Infant Health and a background in perinatal support, clinical health research, and secondary education. I have been serving families for 20 years, both in hospital and in private practice. I am especially passionate about ensuring that vulnerable populations have access to appropriate and practical breastfeeding support. This pursuit led me towards education and mentorship-  I am currently a faculty member at Douglas College, teaching lactation courses to healthcare providers. I believe that lactation education should be firmly grounded in evidenced-based research and should give providers the hands-on skills needed to center their care around the individual needs of every family. Originally from the midwestern US, I now live in Vancouver, Canada with my husband Jacob and our two boys.
